Description
A trekker's paradise, Kottancheri hills is a part of Western Ghats and an extension of Ranipuram wildlife sanctuary. Located around 50 km north-east of Kanhangad, Kottancheri hills resembles much of the scenic beauty of Kodiakanal - a popular hill station in Tamilnadu. The nearness of the Talakaveri, a place generally considered to be the source of River Kaveri, in the Brahmagiri mountain range of Kodaku adds charm of this place. Shola forests, grasslands, spice plantations and monsoon forests have given this lands great scenic beauty. The rainforests near Konnakkad is ideal for trekking.
How To Reach
Regular buses are available from Konnakad and Kanhangad. Malom is the nearest town located and the spot is around 67 from Bekal.
Nearest railway station is Kanhangad, about 55 km.
