Description
On the shores of Arabian Sea near Bekal, situates the Thrikkanad or Trikkannad temple. Devoted to Lord Shiva, the temple is famous for its customs and rituals performed for the well - being of the souls of the dead. On the new moon days, thousands of devotees flock to this temple for pithrutharppanam (homage to the forefathers). Legend says that the idol of the temple was consecrated by the great sage Kanva. The temple is also unique for the fact that it is one of those rare temples that faces the west. Pandiyan Kallu is just 2 km away from this temple.
